"These kids have the same challenges than a lot of our players do," Wounded Warrior softball team spokesperson Tom Plant said.
"For a lot of these kids, this is the first time they've been around other kids like themselves, with kids of these injuries," he said.
The children, who range from ages 8 to 12, also have received Disney World park-hopper tickets, provided all through donations.
"This is our first camp, so we're super-excited," Plant said. "This is also very big for our players as well. This is a way for them to give back for kids in need."
On Friday, the team and children will take on a team of celebrities at the sports complex. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public. For more information on the softball camp, go to MOPHSF.org.
