Fallout continues for Paula Deen on social media

Celebrity Chef Paula Deen -- is she kaput or can she somehow rise above the controversy that surrounds her?

This stems from her admission last week that she used the N-word in the past.

Deen has made three video apologies now, but many agree she missed the mark, saying they were insincere.

Some say those YouTube videos were a bad public relations move. In fact, that this whole situation was handled wrong.

Deen continues to be a top trend on Twitter and fans coming to her defense.

In the meantime, there's a lot of talk about her endorsements after another big company terminated their partnership with her.

"I want people to understand that my family and I are not the kind of people that the press say we are," said Deen.

In less than a week, the southern comfort food queen has taken to the internet to defend her family's reputation.

She's embroiled in a scandal that just won't seem to go away.

It all started when news broke that Deen admitted in a deposition that was part of a lawsuit that in the past, she used racial slurs in the workplace, including the N-word.

She admitted to using the word -- in the past, but chalks it up to quote being, "an old woman" raised in the south.

"I've spent the best of 24 year to help myself and others.  Your color of skin, your religion, your sexual preference does not matter to me," she said.

But what may matter to her is the professional fallout as her empire continues to crumble.

Smithfield Foods is the latest company to cut ties with the celebrity chef, making the announcement Monday afternoon.  Add to that QVC says it is reviewing its deal with Deen Enterprises to sell the star's cookbooks and cookware.  In the meantime, they have no plans to have her appear on the network.    

Sears says it's exploring its relationship with Deen and her products, as is Walmart, Caesars Entertainment Corp., which has Deen's restaurants in some of its Las Vegas casinos.

And of course the Food Network -- it was the first to distance itself from Deen last Friday, ending its 11 year relationship with her.

Her fans were quick to show their outrage at the network for its decision.

They continue to make their voices heard on the company's Facebook page. One right after another, saying they will stop watching the network, and cancel their subscriptions to the magazine.    

Many say she made a mistake and it's time to forgive.

"I try to say I am so sorry I was wrong. Yes I've worked hard and I've made mistakes, but that is no excuse and I offer my sincere apology to those that I have hurt and I hope that you forgive me," said Deen.
