What's the weirdest thing you ever eaten in your life?

Herring from Holland is not that weird when you consider what American fast food restaurants are serving up these days.

Taco Bell is thinking way outside the bun all the way to the waffle. The waffle taco has scrambled eggs, sausage and syrup.

Burger King has the bacon milkshake.

Dunkin Donuts has a glazed donut sandwich.

Pizza Hut in the U.K. Has a stuffed hot dog crust.

Wendy's has a pretzel bacon double cheeseburger.

Branding and marketing expert Adam Hanft calls it a sort of cry for attention. He says that despite the America's obesity problem, these chains come up with food items (such as a 1,200-calorie bacon shake) that are a "counter-trend" and the media will pay attention.

We're paying attention, but many others told us they are unimpressed.
