KISSIMMEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

The hunt for a killer continues today who shot a 17-year-old boy Wednesday and left him lying on the side of a Kissimmee road.

Police investigators spent Wednesday afternoon near Kissimmee Surgery Center, looking for clues into the death of David Stiven Guerrero.

They say Guerrero was walking on North Central Avenue to a bus stop around 6 a.m. to catch a ride to his summer job when he was shot in the stomach.

The bullet flew from a passing car, according to a lone witness who was scheduled to have surgery at the nearby center.

"A 911 caller said he saw a car and heard a gunshot and saw the victim lying on the side of the road," Kissimmee Police spokeswoman Stacie Miller said.

"Can you tell if the person is hurt?" a dispatcher says on the 911 call.

"Yes. He's hurt. He's lying on the side of the road," the caller replies.

"How old is he?"

"I don't have any idea how old he is. He's laying on the side of the road with a ... on his head."

"Are you able to talk to him? Does he talk to you?" the dispatcher asks.

"He moans... He can't talk. He just moans," the 911 caller says.

After the caller arrived at the surgery center, he sent a nurse to the teen, police say.

Guerrero was rushed to Florida Hospital, where he died.

"We have nothing to go on. If you were out and about at 6 and saw any suspicious activity, call us," Miller said.
