PONTIAC, Mich. (WJBK) -

At just 21 years old, Mitchell Young is a convicted killer. He looked at the jurors as they were polled. It was a quick, unanimous verdict, and it came as no surprise to many.

Young was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree felony murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder and armed robbery.

The Cipriano family looked on and listened as the verdict was read. Young's grandmother did the same.

"He took it stoically, I would say, and doubt very seriously you could say that he was pleased, but he stood up straight and he walked out maintaining his dignity," said Michael McCarthy, Young's attorney.

Young and his friend Tucker Cipriano will now spend the rest of their lives behind bars for the murder of Tucker's father, Robert, and the severe beatings of his mother, Rose, and brother, Sal.

It all happened during a robbery attempt. The defendants were allegedly high on K2 and armed with baseball bats.

Tucker entered a plea, and the jury reached its verdict on Young without ever hearing from the victims.

Cipriano family spokesman Ron Cipriano released a statement that said, "We are glad the trial is over and that our family did not have to relive the horrible experience by having to testify in it. Our family has been through a horrible tragedy that we will live with for the rest of our lives. At the end of the day, Bob -- our brother, father, neighbor, colleague, coach and friend -- is still gone from our lives forever. His absence can never be replaced and no trial will ever change that."

But at least there is some justice. Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper said, "We can all breathe a sigh of relief that these two convicted brutal killer will never be able to prey upon any other members of the public."

Young's attorney said he will appeal.
