KINGMAN, Ariz. -

Residents in Pinion Pine community and 200 homes in the Pine Lake community and Hualapai Mountain Park near Kingman are under a mandatory evacuation due to the Dean Peak Fire.

Firefighters are asking residents to place a white towel or white sheet on the front door area of homes to help authorities know that you've left.

Mohave County Sheriff's Deputies and Search & Rescue Units went door to door advising residents in the Blake Ranch Road area of a "pre-evacuation notice." People living south of Interstate 40 at Petro (Blake Ranch Road) were put on alert.

The fire is burning about 30 minutes south of Kingman in the Hualapai Mountains and has now burned 3.6 square miles as it shrouds communities with smoke.

Residents are being sent to a reception center at Kingman High School at 4182 North Bank Street in Kingman.

The Mohave Fairgrounds have been set up to take in domestic animals and livestock.

Two DC tankers flew out from Mesa-Gateway Airport on Monday to fight the fire. 175 firefighters and support personnel are battling the flames on the ground.  They're focusing on protecting structures.

The lightning-caused fire started June 29 and officials project containment for July 12.

The following roads are closed:

- Hualapai Mountain Road is closed at MP 4.5 (beyond Seneca Road and before Lazy Y U)

- DW Ranch Road at Interstate 40 (on the Hualapai Mountain side)

- Blake Ranch Road at Interstate 40 (on the Hualapai Mountain side)

- Old Highway 93 is closed to the Hualapai Mountains

- Yellow Pines into the Hualapai Mountains

- Antelope Wash to the Hualapai Mountains
