Chef Bryce Balluf with Fork in the Road food truck is serving up quite a menu: cured king salmon, baby greens, pickled Florida peaches, edmame, sweet corn succotash, sweetbreads, and duck crackling. And that's just some of it!
"It's a wine and food pairing that's a little different," said Scott Joseph, organizer of this special event.
Although Joseph has been planning what he calls "pop up supper clubs" for a little while now, he's calling this gathering of 40 or so people at a wine warehouse a "sipper club."
"It's all about the wine tonight," said Joseph. "We're going to wander around the room. It's not usually open to the public, so it's a special night to come in here and see how the operation works."
Winter Park's Wine on the Way warehouse, at 805 S. Orlando Ave., is the venue for this evening's event. The location was only recently revealed to guests.
"Quite often, people don't know where it's going to be until
a day before the event," said Joseph.
That's part of the lure for these daring diners.
"We're met several new friends," said one diner. "That's the main thing."
Another diner tells us, "It's exclusive, but not meant to be snooty. I think it's just for the size to the venue."
Joseph describes it best, as a group of people who want to get together and have a quality element of enjoying good food and wine.
"And being with other people who like good food and wine," he adds.
