Car impounded in connection with hit-and-run that killed Orlando woman
A car has been impounded and will be tested to see whether it was involved in a crash that struck and killed an Orlando woman walking on South Orange Blossom Trail early Thursday.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the owner of an 1998 Acura contacted troopers in Martin County and that the driver is a person of interest in the crash.
The victim, Amber Poblacion, 30, was walking on U.S. 441 near La Quinta Drive, just north of the Beachline Expressway, at about 2:43 a.m. Thursday when she was struck by a vehicle traveling south on the roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Poblacion was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center but died, troopers said.
A witness to the crash had reported to authorities that the vehicle that didn't stop is possibly a dark, older-model Acura with dark tinted windows.
