Kissimmee Police are looking for a man whom they say tried to rob the Queen of Pawns pawnshop in downtown Kissimmee on Friday -- then was greeted inside by a gun-toting clerk that opened fire.
The clerk, though, ended up injuring a fellow employee.
Bethany Howard lives at the inn next door."It's scary to know that right here, it could have been any of us," Howard said. "Any of us could have gotten hurt out here."
The clerk was not seriously injured, according to both Kissimmee Police and Howard.
"There was a blonde girl, and she got put in the back of the ambulance. Her hand was hurt," Howard said.
Police were able to release a surveillance picture of the robber as he left the store.
Howard said she will be on her toes.
"There's been a helicopter looking for someone. There are roadblocks all down here. They're looking for someone, hard," Howard said.
"If they [the suspect] were intending to hurt someone in a pawnshop, they're not going to care to hurt someone out in the public."
It is unclear whether the clerk will face charges. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
