Woman Charged With DUI Following Horrific Crash On Busy Sidewalk

A 28-year old Philadelphia woman has been arrested and charged with several counts of aggravated assault and DUI in connection with weekend car crash that injured four pedestrians, including two young children.

Police say Erika Williams, from the 5500 block of Hill Creek Circle, was behind the wheel of a 1994 Blue Oldsmobile at 10:54 PM on July 6.  She was traveling at a high rate of speed on Anchor Street when she tried swerved to avoid a ball.  The car slammed onto the curb and struck two adults and two small children, ages 5 and 2.

The children were transported to St. Christopher's where one of the children suffered severe leg trauma and is listed in critical condition.  The other child suffered a broken pelvis and is in stable condition. 

Williams is charged with 4 counts of aggravated assault while DUI, Criminal mischief, DUI and other related offenses.
