A cat-napping burglary suspect was arrested after falling asleep on a homeowner's couch during a robbery Sunday, police say.
Domonique Pinkard, 21, and Julian Evangelist, 20, were taken to the Lake County Jail.
According to Lady Lake Police, a homeowner returned to her Winners Circle residence at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday to find that her back door had been kicked in. She saw that clothing, jewelry and electronics were missing and called police.
When officers arrived, they found Pinkard asleep on the couch. He had some of the missing jewelry in his possession, they said. He awoke to find police arresting him.
Evangelist was arrested just a few homes down the street, where police found the rest of the stolen property, they said.
Pinkard told police he sat on the couch while Evangelist carried the television out of the house. But then he fell asleep, he said. Evangelist didn't wake him up and just left with the TV, police said.
