Fort Mohave man is sentenced in firearms case

Updated:

PHOENIX (AP) - A Fort Mohave man has sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of an illegal firearm.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Joshua Samuel Jenkins was given a 63-month prison term when he was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix.

He will be on three years of supervised release after serving his prison sentence.

Jenkins pleaded guilty in May to possessing a sawed-off shotgun with ammunition.

Authorities say Jenkins previously had been convicted of 4 felony offenses.

The case was investigated by Fort Mohave tribal police.
