Aretha Franklin cancels July tour stop at DTE Energy Music Theatre

DETROIT (WJBK) -

Aretha Franklin has canceled a concert scheduled for later this month at DTE Energy Music Theatre.

In a letter to fans, the soul singer cites a "miscalculation of the end of my treatment" as reason for the cancellation of her "One Last Time" tour stop on July 27.

"It would be totally disruptive to stop them now and go into concert with total success right at the door, 100%," said Franklin in the letter.

The show was originally scheduled for June 22, but moved to July 27 due to a "minor medical situation," according to the DTE Energy Music Theatre web site.

"I'll see you next summer," Franklin added.

Franklin, one of the most honored singers in American history, has won numerous Grammys, the National Medal of Arts, the Presidential Medal of Freedom and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
