A 14-year-old boy is facing 21 felony charges after authorities say he tried to grab a deputy's gun after a chase.
A Marion County Sheriff's deputy was searching an Ocala neighborhood for a burglary suspect and spotted the boy, who fit the description.
When detectives approached him, they say the teen took off on a bike, only to abandon the bike and start running.
The boy then pulled a Glock pistol from his waistband, tossed it into bushes and continued to run, the Sheriff's Office said.
When the deputy caught up with him, the boy tried to grab the deputy's gun. A shot was fired, but no one was hurt.
The boy's charges include carrying a concealed weapon, resisting an officer with violence, possession of a firearm and 17 counts of burglary.
