GROSSE ILE, Mich. (WJBK) -

A nasty problem is frustrating people on Grosse Ile. Sewage is backing up in their yards creating a horrible smell. And they say it's not the first time.

The strong stench of manure stings your nostrils immediately. Seriously stinky sewage is backed up in several yards, now swamps, along Rucker Road. Neighbors say it's due to faulty piping after weeks of heavy downpours.

We've called the township for answers. So far, no response.
