The son of the Sanford city manager bonded out of jail Wednesday night after being arrested on domestic violence charges against his mother.
Norton Bonaparte III was arrested just before 7 a.m. Tuesday on charges of simple assault and domestic violence.
Sanford Police say that the night before, an officer responded to the home of Bonaparte III's mother to investigate a report of an assault. The mother told police that Bonaparte III had "barged into my home" and threatened her.
She said Bonaparte III stormed off and said "kill yourself." He followed that statement with what sounded like, "I'll kill you," police said.
Bonaparte III was taken to Seminole County Jail. He paid cash for his $301.50 bond.
