Police Photog Releases Boston Suspect Photos, Faces Investigation

Posted: Updated:

Chilling new photos of alleged Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev emerged Thursday.

Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Sean Murphy says he wants the world to see the "real face" of the accused terrorist.

The move is in response to Rolling Stone Magazine's August cover photo, which some believe portrays Tsarnaev as a rock star.

Murphy released the photos to Boston Magazine, and they show Tsarnaev emerging from the boat he was hiding out in. You can see sharp-shooters have their lasers trained on Tsarnaev's forehead.

In a statement to Boston Magazine, Murphy called Rolling Stone's cover an insult to any person who has ever worn a uniform.

Amid a report by Boston Magazine that Murphy has been "relieved of duty," Massachusetts State Police told the Associated Press on Thursday night that Murphy is now "the subject of an internal investigation."
