A new indoor skate and BMX center in Central Florida promotes a family-friendly, Christian atmosphere for extreme sports enthusiasts.
Fort Barachel Indoor Skate Park in Winter Garden started as a private BMX park for owner Tim Fake's son, Colt, a professional BMX rider. But so many friends were interested in coming, Tim Fake decided to open the facility to the public.
"It's just a lot of fun for the kids," Tim Fake said. "We're all about the family and try to promote morals to the kids and make it a family-friendly park."
Scooter riders, skateboarders and BMX riders are welcome at Fort Barachel.
"A lot of families think of bad things when they think of BMX and skateboarding. But there are a lot of good kids, Christian kids, faith-based people who believe in skating and having fun," Fake said.
Fort Barachel, at 130 N. West Crown Point Road, Winter Garden, is open to the public Thursdays through Saturdays from noon to 8 p.m. All-day admission is $10, a one-hour session costs $5. For more information, call 407-347-7988 or go to FortB.org.
