Philadelphia police have one suspect in custody and are seeking a second in a luxury car theft.

It's not every day someone steals a bright yellow Lamborghini with Batman tags and a black Bentley out of a tightly secured garage. But whoever masterminded the theft of these two luxury cars didn't enjoy the high end ride for too long.

"It's very disturbing," said Thomas Warren, a resident of the Charter Court Apartments where the cars were stolen. "My thought is how can it happen."

"I'm surprised. That's all I can say," resident Gail Brown told Fox 29. "I didn't know it was a Lamborghini when I seen it, it was a yellow batman car to me."

Within hours of the two cars being boosted from the Charter Court Apartments on Wissahickon Avenue, they were both recovered by police. The $225,000 Lamborghini was left by the side of the road in Germantown.

"Nobody's ever left a Lamborghini before," homeowner Janet Scannell told Fox 29s Steve Keeley.

"I like saying the phrase 'stolen Lamborghini in front of our house,'" said Beth Goodell.

Several hours later, the $220,000 Bentley was discovered less than a mile away from the apartment complex on Abbottsford Road.

"We do have 24 hour security as well as someone's always on the look out," Warren added.

The cars belong to an unidentified 24-year-old man who lives here at Charter Court.  Residents told Fox 29 this is a very secure building. They were surprised that anyone could break in and steal such expensive, high profile cars.

"Both cars, as you said, are high-end cars. Usually when something goes out the building like that, someone should be aware of it," a neighbor said.

Police say someone entered the owner's apartment, stole two flat screen TVs, $1,500 in cash, a computer and the keys to those sweet rides. They were gone in a matter of minutes.

"I'm really happy that they didn't take our mini van after they parked the Lamborghini," Goodell said as police towed the Lamborghini away.

Sources say investigators have surveillance video tape from inside the garage where the cars were stolen.

The two luxury cars are being held at the police impound garage in Hunting Park while the investigation continues.
