South Daytona police officers on Tuesday acted on a tip concerning the possible sale of drugs at a home on Beckman Drive.
When police arrived at the home in question, they said they found marijuana, prescription medication and synthetic narcotics. They said they also found several guns and items believed to have been stolen.
Four women were arrested, three of whom were charged with possession. Police said that one of the women, Tiesha Macker, told them that all of the drugs and guns in the home belonged to her.
According to a police report, Macker said that when she couldn't find a job five years ago, she started selling drugs and has done so ever since. She said she used the money to pay household bills and even pay off her car.
"They're good people," said one neighbor. "They are always outside with their kids, playing football in the street with their kids and playing basketball."
Also arrested at the Beckman Drive home were Wynika Green and Tennile Honor, both on drug-possession charges. Macker, 24, was given $100,000 bond. As of Tuesday afternoon, she remained in the Volusia County Jail.
