DETROIT (WJBK) -

5-year-old Demonte Reilley woke up to his mother having a seizure, and the little boy knew exactly what to do when he dialed 911.

It brought tears to Akua McClain's eyes just thinking about what her son did.

"I'm so proud of him," she said. "He saved me."

It was the 911 operator who let us know what happened because she wanted everyone to know about this child's bravery. He dialed 911, told them what had happened to his mother, her age and her medical history, as well as their location. He then stayed on the phone and updated them on her condition until EMS arrived.

Thanks to her son, mom was treated, released from the hospital and is now doing okay.
