MOORESTOWN, N.J. -

Police have confirmed the death of Officer Craig Berner, a Moorestown Police Officer who crashed his motorcycle Saturday night.

Officer Berner lost control of his motorcycle shortly after 10 p.m. and was ejected from his vehicle. He was then hit by a truck driven by an investigator with the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, authorities say.

Officer Berner was a former marine and also a good father, says his fellow officers.

"Craig was a real humorous guy, a real jokester in the police department," reflects Lieutenant Lee Lieber. "You have to almost think about that, how he was, to be able to take what happened."

The accident is being investigated by the Camden County Prosecutor's office.
