CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

An American Airlines flight blew two tires upon landing at O'Hare International Airport Monday afternoon.

American Airlines spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan said Flight 810 arrived at O'Hare at 12:30 p.m. and came to a halt on a taxiway after two tires on the left main landing gear blew.

Fagan said that when aircraft tires blow, there is a thermal release plug which pops after the inside pressure builds up. She said this occurrence is not uncommon, and is different from when an automobile's tire pops. The airplane tire releases the air slowly.

The Boeing 737 carried 137 passengers and five crew members. No one was hurt in the incident.

Fagan said passengers deplaned via portable air stairs, taken by bus to the terminal and were sent on their way to baggage claim or their connecting flights.
