Dacula man thanks Good Samaritans who saved his life

DACULA, Ga. -

A Gwinnett County man says he'll be forever grateful to three strangers who saved his life when exercise turned into an emergency.  Patrick Spink collapsed during a run at a Dacula park a week ago, and his family has been searching for the three people who saved him ever since.

Those three strangers--Sara Bray, a cardiac cath lab RT; Tracey Klein, a nurse; and Bob Place, who knows CPR-- kept his heart beating until paramedics arrived.  On Monday, Spink was able to thank them in person when they reunited in a hospital room at Gwinnett Medical Center.  There were lots of hugs, handshakes and tears.

Their first encounter at Rabbit Hill Park, though, very different.  Spink, 48, was on a run last Sunday with his son when we went into cardiac arrest.  Luckily, they weren't alone, and the three Good Samaritans took turns doing CPR until help arrived.

Spink is scheduled to undergo bypass surgery.  His son Nick made it his mission to find the strangers who stopped and saved his father's life.
