OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

At 15, Konrad Schafer is now one of the youngest inmates in the Osceola County Jail, and a judge has decided that he will remain there until he goes to trial.

Schafer is charged in two separate murder investigations --  a deadly Poinciana home invasion and a drive-by shooting in Kissimmee, which police are calling a random act of violence.

On Monday, Schafer was only arraigned for armed burglary of a dwelling with a fire arm.

"That is a first degree felony, punishable by life in prison," Circuit Judge Keith Carsten explained to Schafer.

Schafer and three others face two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths David Guerrero, 17, and Eric Roopnarine, 22, in shootings in Kissimmee and Poinciana, respectively.

The deadly shootings were just two of over a dozen non-fatal shootings reported across Osceola County in June and July.

Schafer is being charged as an adult in the armed burglary, as is his co-defendant, Victoria Rios.  The 17-year-old Rios will also be held without bail while awaiting trial.

"You will be moved to the adult jail," said Judge Carsten.

Co-defendants David Damus and Juan Muriel, both 20, also face charges linked to Roopnarine's death.

Detectives said the weapon used in the deadly shootings belonged to the teenager's father, Lothar Hans Shafer Jr., who had just purchased the gun.   They said Konrad Schafer took the gun out every night and shot at cars, homes, and other things, without his father's knowledge.

Orange-Osceola State Attorney Jeff Ashton is prosecuting the case.
