NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A Manhattan ad executive who was on a first date plunged to her death Thursday morning when the railing on her Sutton Place balcony gave way.

Jennifer Rosoff, 35, fell from the 17th floor of her unit at 400 E. 57th Street just before 1 a.m.

She was smoking a cigarette in the company of her date when she leaned or sat on the railing, telling him that she probably shouldn't do it. Moments later, she fell and landed on construction scaffolding.

Rosoff died at the scene.

Detectives spoke to the distraught man but do not suspect foul play.

She was the Director of Sales at online advertising company TripleLift. She started working there five months ago after previously working at The New Yorker, Conde Nast, and Cosmopolitan Magazine according to her LinkedIn profile.

The Dept. of Buildings has ordered that all balconies of the building, Stonehenge 57, remain off-limits until they can be inspected.

The managing director of the building, Richard Dansereau, issued a statement saying:  "This is a tragedy and our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of Ms. Rosoff. I am trying to reach out to the family to express these sentiments personally. We are cooperating fully with the investigation into the cause of this terrible accident."

LL Cool J stays true to hip hop roots

EXCLUSIVE -- LL Cool J grew and evolved from a hip hop artist out of Hollis, Queens, to a Hollywood TV and movie star. But he always stayed true to hip hop culture. We'd see him backstage at concerts just hanging out with us, so when I heard he was back in New York for the summer I had to find out why. I tracked him down to a Midtown Manhattan recording studio for this exclusive interview.
