CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Looking for something fun and yummy to do every Wednesday and Saturday in Chicago? Check out the Green City Market in Lincoln Park between Clark and Stockton Drive.

The Green City Market features sustainably-grown food sold by local farmers and producers. Visitors also have the opportunity to learn about the work that goes into growing and making high quality foods, how they can use these fresh products in their own kitchens and how they can create a healthier community.

FOX 32's Green City friends brought fresh fruits and veggies from Seedling Orchard and delicious pies from Hoosier Mama Pies to share with Good Day Chicago Wednesday morning.

They brought cherry berry and tart cherry pies, dried cherry scones and cherry turnovers made by Hoosier Mama owner Paula Haney, who recently visited FOX 32 News at Noon.

Haney partners with Peter Klein of Seedling Orchard to find out which fruit is best to bake with each season. She primarily gets her cherries from the South Haven, Mich. orchard, which also has stone fruit, peaches, apricots, blackberries, and raspberries at the moment.

They shared Queen Anne cherries, Baletom cherries, blackberries, and raspberries with Good Day on Wednesday.

The outdoor market is open from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday from May to October.

Green City's indoor market runs at the same time every Saturday in November and December at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, located at 2430 N. Cannon Dr. in Lincoln Park.
