Orange County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a killer after a man was shot to death Friday afternoon at an apartment complex on the east side of the county. The sheriff's office is not releasing the name of the victim or many details about this murder.
Desiree Bradwell expresses what residents at the Valencia Forest Apartments feel. They want to know more about the shooting that killed a man here Friday afternoon. Bradwell heard four of five shots near her apartments after four o'clock.
She says, "The maintenance man come by my window. I looked out the window and he was looking real strange and after that I went back in the kitchen. You didn't go outside though to see what happened? No I was scared."
The sheriff's office will only say a Hispanic man was shot to death here. Lori Trainer is a spokeswoman for the property management company. She tells Fox 35 the victim was visiting someone who lives here. She says he was shot to death in the breezeway of building six.
Trainer says her maintenance man witnessed the shooting, called 911 and saw the suspect take off in a Chevy Blazer. Trainer says the maintenance man got a complete license plate number.
The sheriff's office will only say detectives are following leads based on witness accounts. People who live here hope for a quick arrest after an alarming afternoon.
Resident Gessel Lizaola tells fox 35 news, "I was home and I heard three gun shots, and I just heard screaming like from the pool ."
Friends say the victim is a 22 year old Orange County man, but we are not releasing his name until the sheriff's office confirms it.
