Orlando shooting victim declared brain dead; boyfriend charged with murder

Posted: Updated:

Orlando Police say Kim Moore, 29, has been declared brain dead after she was shot at an Orlando Apartment Complex on Mercy Drive early Sunday morning in what police call a case of domestic violence.

"I knew her and her boyfriend and their little baby, we stay next to each other,"said Brittany, a neighbor who didn't want to give her last name."

Police have arrested the victim's boyfriend Reginald Greenwich, 33, charging him with first degree murder, domestic violence and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.  He's accused of shooting the 29-year-old mother inside the apartment they shared  Sunday morning.

Police said they discovered Moore's body at the bottom of the stairway to the building with trauma to the head.

"It was shocking to me when I heard it because I would never, think that would have happened, that was very shocking," Brittany said.

Neighbors say the couple had a 3-year-old daughter, police a child was also inside the apartment when the shooting happened.

"It's just sad, I don't know her, but we all get a long out here," said neighbor Shante Brown.

Neighbors say a private security company has been present at the complex for close to a month in an effort to decrease crime in the community, something neighbors say makes the situation even more unsettling.

"For us to loose somebody while we had so much protection is crazy," Brittany said.

Police say a gun was also recovered, the suspect had been booked into the Orange County Jail.
