Dara Torres: I Gave It Everything I Had, Left It In The Pool

Posted: Updated:

Dara Torres says she gave it her best shot, but it just didn't happen.

From 1984 to 2008, Torres competed in five different Olympics as a member of U.S. Olympic Swim Team, but in 2012, she missed qualifying by .09 second .. that's nine-hundredths of one second.  But she has no regrets; she did her best.  Besides, Torres was already the oldest member of the U.S. Olympic Swim Team ever to compete in the Olympic games -- she was 41 in 2008.

During her career, Torres won a total of 12 medals -- four gold, four silver and four bronze.
