We got our first look at a 1-week-old elephant calf at Lowry Park Zoo today.
She was born last Monday, July 29.
The infant elephant does not have a name yet. She was born to "Matjeka," a 7,600 pound, 21-year-old elephant after a 21-month gestation period.
And you can see in the photos that she doesn't stray far from her mama's side yet.
The zoo released a handful of photos of the baby earlier this week; today, they let the media see and photograph her.
You'll see two small elephants in these photos. The other, slightly larger one is 7-month-old "Mpumi," the calf's half-sister.
