Did you spend any money at Wet N Wild Waterpark this summer? You might want to check your bank account. It seems some customers have been double billed on their checking account cards.
We talked to one angry customer, who says Wet N Wild totally ignored all of the customer complaints until FOX 10 got involved and started asking questions.
As the screams of summer fade, there are some customers of Wet N Wild who have a lasting memory of the north Phoenix water park. And it's not a good one.
"It's okay to make mistakes, we're all human we're going to make mistakes, but take responsibility for that, apologize for it."
Misty Hernandez bought two Wet N Wild park passes on June for $162.42 as incentive for her Girl Scout troop.
This month, that $162.42 was billed again from the troops account. The second charge overdrew the account, which tacked on an additional $34 fee.
When Hernandez went to the water park's Facebook page, she found she was not the only unhappy customer who was being double billed.
"A couple people have $370 charges, there's $327. I mean the list goes on, $150. A lot of people were recharged for their season passes," says Hernandez.
Wet N Wild management did not want to go on camera with us, but they did say all of this mess goes back to one of the billing vendors, IC Verify. It says it mistakenly was double billing Wet N Wild customers.
In a statement released this afternoon, Wet N Wild apologized for the mistake and says the vendor is working to reverse the charges and any fees that Wet N Wild customers may have been hit with because of the error.
A reminder, says Misty Hernandez, to keep a close eye on your accounts.
