PHILADELPHIA -

There were a few scary moments tonight for 95 passengers and 4 crew members onboard a Jet Blue flight out of Boston headed for BWI-Marshall.

Smoke in the cabin forced the captain of the plane to decide on an emergency landing in Philadelphia.

One passenger tells Fox-5 it was a rubbery, smokey smell. The flight landed in Philadelphia arounmd 5:53 p.m.

Fox 5 spoke by phone with passenger Laura-Chase McGehee. She is a freelance photographer, coming back after a wedding shoot in Boston.

She says passengers were instructed to cross their hands above their heads and bend over their laps in preparation for the landing. The plane made a dramatic and rapid descent. She says it was met by fire trucks on the ground.

The plane's doors were opened and people exited on inflatable slides. No word on the cause of the smoke from Jet Blue, which issued a statement saying everyone was safely evacuated and that customers were being reaccommodated on a later flight.
