Miami, Tampa-St. Pete on list of cities most at risk for coastal flooding by 2050

Living near the ocean may not be a wise choice if you believe a new survey.

British researchers say Miami, New York, Tampa-St. Petersburg, Boston and New Orleans are all at risk of severe coastal flooding.
The study by the team at the University of Southampton predicts extensive and frequent flood damage by the year 2050 if sea levels continue to rise. The study also says the global cost of repairing flood damage could top $1 trillion a year.

Miami was ranked 6th out of 136 cities that were studied.   Tampa-St. Pete ranked 16th on the list.
