Man charged in deadly hit and run on Interstate 4

Authorities said that an Orange County man who was being sought in a deadly hit and run investigation turned himself in on Tuesday.

George Warner, 24, faces charges of hit and run involving a death and driving without a license.

Investigators say it was Warner who struck and killed a man along Interstate 4 on the evening of July 20.  Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol said they were able to track down the vehicle Warner was allegedly driving, because of the actions of two people who witnessed the incident.

Sarah Lopez and husband Youssef Belhandj said they noticed something gruesome along the side of the road around 7 p.m. that night.

"The first thing that caught my attention was the guy that flipped over head first, over the railing," said Sarah Lopez.

According to the FHP, 43-year-old Juan Cedillo's car had broken down on the interstate near State Road 535, so he started walking in the emergency lane to find a place to call for help.  That's when Lopez said that someone in a black Chevy Malibu struck Cedillo and took off.   Concerned by what she saw,  Lopez called 911 and reported the tag number and a description of the vehicle.

"I was trying to take a picture of the car," she said, "but I was trying to tell police basically everything that I saw."

The couple said they followed the Chevy Malibu and even rolled down a window trying to talk to the driver.

"My husband beeped the horn at him, so we could tell him to go back," said Lopez. "He didn't say anything.  He just looked so confused."

Troopers said they were able to locate the vehicle the very next day at an Orlando apartment complex.  They said it had damage similar to what Lopez described.

Warner's bond was set at $10,000.
