SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a California man has been arrested after meeting a 14-year-old Connecticut girl online and flying her back to the Golden State without her parents' knowledge.

Nathan Salas of Merced was arrested Tuesday at the Sacramento International Airport.

Sacramento County sheriff's investigators say the 27-year-old had cultivated a relationship with the girl over several months.

The girl's parents reported her missing Monday to police in Hamden, Conn. She had left a suicide note before disappearing.

Police examining her phone found Salas's number, and sheriff's investigators discovered airline tickets in their names.

Salas was booked for concealing a child without parents' consent and is being held on $100,000 bail.

Sheriff's officials say the girl was unharmed. She's being held in juvenile hall while her parents arrange to bring her home.
