The father of accused murder suspect Konrad Schafer, the 15-year-old boy charged in two separate murder investigations in Osceola County, was released from the Polk County Jail.
Lothar Hans Schafer Jr., 57, faces charges of culpable negligence and allowing unlawful possession of a firearm. Police say he purchased a .45 caliber Hi Point carbine rifle which was used in multiple shooting incidents, including a deadly Poinciana home invasion and a drive-by shooting in Kissimmee, which police are calling a random act of violence.
Police say Konrad and three others are linked to the deaths of Eric Roopnarine, 22, and David Guerrero, 17. The deadly shootings, which occurred days apart, were just two of over a dozen non-fatal shootings reported across Osceola County in June and July.
A warrant had been issued for the elder Schafer's arrest early Tuesday out of Osceola County. He was arrested around 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening
