The 'Marlin Darlin' is usually docked in Clearwater, but this week the crew is down in the waters off the Dominican Republic. The boat is making news around the world thanks to a close call with a spectacular fish.
On a recent run, the crew had already caught two blue marlins and were trying to bring in a third when the fish leapt though the air and right onto the back of the boat.
Owner Bobby Jacobsen caught it all on video.
"Everybody was scared there for a minute, and once we realized nobody got hurt and everything was under control, we realized we had a pretty good piece of video," he told FOX 13.
They ordinarily catch and release such big fish, but this one had to be killed because his tail was pounding the boat and crew.
They gave the marlin to some local fishermen in the area and keep right on fishing, catching another three blue marlins before calling it a day.
