Three thousand Korans were going to be burned in a Mulberry neighborhood, one for each of the people killed on September 11th. Not any more.
The location has been moved to public property, Loyce E. Harper Park on Carter Road, also in Mulberry.
Bill Mc Kinney, the owner of the private property, says he retracted his offer because his yard is wet from all the recent rains. But the man behind the Koran burnings, Pastor Terry Jones, says something else was behind Mc Kinney's change of heart.
"He got a lot of pressure from law enforcement in the area," said Jones. "He got pressure from relatives. He was afraid of losing his job."
Regardless why the location was changed, the resolve of the woman who started a movement to oppose the burning, remains just as strong.
Suzanne Carter-Moore founded "Not in Mulberry."
"We just want the world to know he does not speak for Mulberry," she said.
