Ga., SC officers team up to fight drunk driving

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - State troopers from Georgia and South Carolina are warning college football fans not to drive drunk.

The University of Georgia Bulldogs are set to play the Clemson University Tigers Saturday. About 81,500 fans are expected to attend the game in South Carolina.

Officers from the two states are teaming up for a public service announcement that will air during the game. In the video spot, state troopers from both states say they're teaming up to fight drunk driving.

They urge football fans to plan carefully for tailgating and post-game parties. The officers say fans should make sure they have a designated driver if their plans include alcoholic beverages.

Georgia officers previously teamed up with officers from Florida to make a similar video before a game in Jacksonville, Fla., in 2011.
