Hall wins Ga. Senior Championship by 12 strokes

Posted: Updated:

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Jack Hall of Sea Island is the winner of the 2013 Georgia Senior Championship after posting a 14-under-par 202 on the Deer Creek course at The Landings Club.

Hall claimed the championship Friday by 12 strokes. Last year's champion, Doug Hanzel of Savannah posted a 2-under-par 214 over the 3-day competition.

Hall's 64 in round two was the lowest 18-hole score in the 27-year history of the competition and a senior course record.

The Georgia Senior Championship is open to male amateur golfers at least 55 years of age who belong to a Georgia State Golf Association member club.

Both Hall and Hanzel qualified for the U.S. Senior Open, which was held earlier this month in Omaha, Neb.
