Police say a 12-year-old boy remains in critical condition on Sunday after being struck by a motor vehicle the previous night.

A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department say the boy was struck by a car around 8:30 p.m. Saturday near the corner of Centra Villa and Venetian drives in southwest Atlanta. The driver stopped after hitting the child.

The boy remains in critical condition at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

This incident comes a day after a 3-year-old boy was struck and killed while riding a tricycle in a parking lot.
