Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Four people are dead after an early-morning crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway.

The New York State Police say the one-car crash took place around 5:45 a.m. Sunday.

State Police at the Hawthorne barracks received a report of a one car crash on the Parkway, north of Jackson Avenue. State police say the vehicle drove up the grassy shoulder and hit a bridge abutment at the Underhill Road overpass.

Authorities have identified three of the victims in accident as Bruno Vaccarezza, 19, of Cos Cob, Conn., who was the driver, passengers Fernanda Gomez, 19, Juliana Restrepo, 18, both of Port Chester and Vincent Mendoza, 20, from Norwalk, Conn.

Authorities say there was no indication that another car was involved in the crash or that there was any evidence that drugs or alcohol had a role.

Authorities do not know what caused the crash but the vehicle was reportedly outside of the guardrail for 100 before hitting the bridge.

Police said that the Sprain Brook Parkway northbound has been cleared and police shut down the Underhill Road at the overpass to remove the victims.

They asked anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact investigators at Hawthorne by calling (914)769-2600.
