Police raid illegal nightclub in SW Atlanta, arrest 2

ATLANTA -

Police raided what they called an illegal nightclub overnight. Officers hauled out booze and gambling machines from the venue on Welcome All Road in southwest Atlanta, FOX 5's Tacoma Perry reports.

Law enforcement crews spent several hours raiding what likely appeared to be just a run-of-the-mill, two-story warehouse to most people. According to the Atlanta Police Department, what was going on inside of the warehouse can only be described as an illegal club.

While the club is called The Brazilian, police were instead calling it a "Little Las Vegas."

Early Thursday morning, law enforcement officers carried out cases of liquor and cash, as well as two people in custody. One of the people is alleged to be the owner of the club. The second is allegedly the manager of the dancers at the club.

Police say they executed the search warrant after a two-month investigation.

Police said the club didn't open until after 2 a.m. and usually didn't close up shop until after 11 a.m.

Authorities say their investigation is ongoing.
