The car parts recently discovered buried in Grand Blanc Township belonged to an old AMC Gremlin, but so far little else is known about the vehicle.
According to the Michigan State Police no vehicle identification number was found on the parts that were unearthed by a construction crew.
As FOX 2 News has reported, the parts attracted the attention of the task force investigating the series of child killings in Oakland County from the 1970's. One of the four children who was among the victims had been seen talking to a man in a blue Gremlin.
State police Lt. Mike Shaw tells the Associated Press the Gremlin parts found near Flint were in fact blue. But he says the parts are still being examined.
Investigators are also following up with people who leased the property in the 1970's.
