Sara Gilbert & Aisha Tyler: We Want To Get Closer To Our Viewers

Posted: Updated:

The women of "The Talk" say that when the new season begins on Monday, September 9, secrets WILL be revealed...about the hosts themselves.

Last year, the four hosts -- Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sara Gilbert and Sheryl Underwood -- began their third season by doing an entire show with NO makeup on.

So what to do for an encore?  Sara wouldn't give away much to Steve Edwards and Maria Sansone on Good Day L.A.  But she did say, "At first, I was going to do something just kind of embarrassing," but the show's executive producer kept pushing her to "go deeper, so I'm NOT looking forward to it."

But is it harder to do than the no-makeup day?  "It's harder in a different way," said Sara.  "Harder because it's coming up.  We already finished that (the no-makeup day)."

As for Aisha, "I, unfortunately, just wrote a book, in which I told all my most embarrassing stories, so I really had to dig."

With the women of ‘The Talk' about to begin their fourth season. One question is how will they top their third season premiere?

Fun Facts About Sara Gilbert:

  • She best known for her role as Darlene Conner on the ABC sitcom Roseanne from 1988 to 1997, as co-host and creator of the daytime talk show The Talk and for her recurring role as Leslie Winkle on CBS's The Big Bang Theory.
  • Gilbert decided at age six that she wanted to be an actress after her older sister, Melissa Gilbert, got a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
  • At thirteen she landed the role of Darlene Conner, the sarcastic middle child, in Roseanne. Sara was a cast member in the show's nine-year run from 1988 to 1997, for which she wrote a fourth-season episode story (the teleplay was written by the Guild Writers for the show) called "Don't Make Me Over".
  • Her contribution was considered so important to Roseanne that the show's producers juggled storylines and taping schedules to allow her to study at Yale University while remaining in the cast, shooting remote segments of Darlene at a soundstage in New York. At Yale, she majored in art with an emphasis on photography; she graduated with honors in 1997.

Fun Facts About Aisha Tyler:

  • She known for her regular role as Andrea Marino in the first season of Ghost Whisperer and voicing Lana Kane in Archer, as well as her recurring roles in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Talk Soup, and on Friends as Charlie Wheeler. She is currently a co-host of The Talk and the new host of Whose Line is it Anyway?.
  • She attended Dartmouth College, where she earned a degree in environmental policy and was a member of The Tabard, a co-ed fraternity. At Dartmouth, she co-founded and sang in the Dartmouth Rockapellas, an all-female a cappella group devoted to spreading social awareness through song. After briefly working for a San Francisco advertising firm, she toured the country pursuing a comedy career before finally moving to Los Angeles, in 1996.
  • Her career in television took off in 2001 with jobs as the host of Talk Soup and the reality-dating series The Fifth Wheel.
