Two men bitten by shark

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Two men have minor injuries after a shark nipped their ankles about one minute apart. It happened in New Smyra this afternoon according to the Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue.  Rescue officials say both men were in waist-deep water when the shark bit them.

According to Captain Tammy Marris, both men described the shark as about three feet long.  The men believe it may have been the same shark.

The men took themselves to the hospital to be checked out. The 43 year old lives in New Sryrna and the 25 year old victim is from Oviedo.  The names of the men were not released
