Posted: Updated:

Alfonso Ribeiro, who hosts the ABC Family game show, "Spell-Mageddon," has been working for years.

He began his professional acting career at age eight, making his debut on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical, "The Tap Dance Kid. "

His television credits include the long-running sitcoms "Silver Spoons," opposite Ricky Schroder, and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," starring Will Smith and "In the House" with LL Cool J.

Good Day LA's Maria Sansone has fond memories of Alfonso's time on "Fresh Prince" and one of the most memorable moments involves a dance, one that the pregnant Maria actually performs with Alfonso.

Fun Facts About Alfonso Ribeiro:

  • Ribeiro is best known for his role as Carlton Banks on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and host of GSN show Catch 21 and ABC Family show Spell-Mageddon. He has also received attention for his performance in the title role of the Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid and his appearance as a dancer in a Pepsi commercial also featuring Michael Jackson.
  • He began his career at the age of eight. He first gained recognition in 1983, when he played a leading role in the Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid. He received positive reviews for his performance, and was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award.
