ST. LOUIS -

A St. Louis waitress thought a "guardian angel" left her the tip of a lifetime, but it turned out to be bogus.

FOX affiliate KTVI reported this week on a waitress who wanted to only be identified as "Sara." She told the FOX 2 News crews the receipt that had a $200,000 tip on a $111.54 tab. The total, calculated incorrectly by over $10,000, came up as being unavailable when Sara's manager contacted the bank.

"I will be your guardian angel today. You've never seen a person like me. You've never had a table like me. This will change your life," Sara recalled to KTVI what the one of the three customers she was tending said to her during their visit.

Sara said she was hoping to pay off her student loans and have some financial security with the tip, but now just wants answers from the trio.
