DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -

Police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left a man on life support in Douglas County.

Family members said that Gary Latimer was walking across Fairburn Road in Douglasville on Saturday night when he was struck. The driver did not stop.

Latimer is being kept alive by a machine at the hospital, according to the family. They said the decision may come soon to take him off of life support.

George State Patrol said that there are no known witnesses. Based on a side-view mirror found at the scene, they believe the car is burgundy or brown and a missing mirror on the passenger side.

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run is asked to call police.
